John Atkins, our 45th ranked defensive tackle, is best suited to be a primary backup. We project he will end up with the Los Angeles Chargers because they could use a player of this quality to play defensive tackle. The Chargers currently have 3 healthy defensive tackles, and none are rated better than Atkins.

The Chargers currently have no defensive tackles under contract beyond the 2027 season, so Atkins may only be getting a short term deal, considering his age, with the team.
