Dontavius Russell, our 53rd ranked defensive tackle, is best suited to be a primary backup. We project he will end up with the New England Patriots because they could use a player of this quality after losing Daniel Ekuale for an extended period of time. The Patriots currently have 3 healthy defensive tackles, and none are rated better than Russell.

The Patriots currently have no defensive tackles under contract beyond the 2027 season, so Russell could see a potential long term deal with the team.
