Emmanuel Smith, our 104th ranked linebacker, is best suited to be a primary backup. We project he will end up with the Los Angeles Chargers because they could use a player of this quality to play linebacker. The Chargers currently have 10 healthy linebackers, and none are rated better than Smith.

The Chargers currently have no linebackers under contract beyond the 2027 season, so Smith might get longer than a one year deal with the team.
