James Washington, our 100th ranked wide receiver, is best suited to be a primary backup. We project he will end up with the Carolina Panthers because they could use a player of this quality after losing Keith Kirkwood for an extended period of time. The Panthers currently have 6 healthy wide receivers, and 3 are rated better than Washington: (Laviska Shenault, Ihmir Smith Marsette, and Terrace Marshall).

The Panthers currently have no wide receivers under contract beyond the 2026 season, so Washington might get longer than a one year deal with the team.
