Zach Gentry, our 129th ranked tight end, is best suited to be a depth backup. We project he will end up with the Detroit Lions because they could use a player of this quality to play tight end. The Lions currently have 5 healthy tight ends, and 3 are rated better than Gentry: (Brock Wright, Sam Laporta, and Anthony Firkser).

The Lions currently have no tight ends under contract beyond the 2028 season, so Gentry is probably looking at a one year deal, due to his rank, with the team.
